 Boss introduction Idea

In the Darksouls/Bloodborne series, each boss often has a suggested back story, not always clearly explained in the game. In a game like this one, the player could arrive in a small village, which he had seen before in the distance in celebrations with fireworks above him. Once in the area, the streets would be lifeless this time, the festive objects on the ground, like a quiet evening after a party. In the main square there would be a white mass, surrounded by dozens of corpses of what seemed to be soldiers of the village. Even when approaching the creature would not attack and it would be the player who would have to repeatedly hit the beast that would not attack after many hits (implying the back story of the creature and its pacifist nature). Once the beast is up, a body would be revealed before our eyes, a body that it was covering and trying to protect.

Gameplay Ideas

-the boss could be extremely strong, much too strong for the player. He would have to understand and realize that fighting around the area of the body that the creature was guarding would make it slower and less destructive having to be careful not to hit the body around it.

-From time to time, the creature may revert to its human form, becoming even faster and deadlier. The player will have to use the fireworks, filled with powder and scattered on the ground to make Bai return to her slower creature form, which the player would be able to hit.

-With its fur, the creature can dazzle the area and the player, he will then have to place himself near the body if he wants to avoid the attack, preventing the creature from hitting and using its weakness.

-The creature will also make luminous balls appear on the ground that the player will have to avoid.

-The creature could turn into a small white rabbit, very fast, this is the deadly attack of the boss. If the rabbit manages to jump on the player's neck, it's instant death.

Creative Pitch Deck - INTO THE NEONDARK

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fGNP6iRBwZ9UATd2S0vXNCms0FlSqusN-SvMsE_I_7k/edit?usp=sharing

STORY SUMMARY

Jason is the young heir of a powerful oligrachic corporation, who is forced to go on the run when his family's seat on the Executive Court is usurped by a sub-branch of the family led by his uncle Pelias. Narrowly escaping from paralegal assassins and corpo-bounty hunters, with the help of a small group of friends and allies, including a rescued neo-psych Medea, Jason must undertake a perilous journey through the Neondark, vast underground urban caverns from ages past, in order to reach the distant megacity of Kolkis, where he has heard of a mysterious technology that can help him reclaim his family’s place.

THE HARPIES

Harpies are biomechanical humanoid mutants or creatures that are the lurking scavengers of the ancient undercity, making their nests in the wet and the dark, preying on unlucky or unwise travellers who venture too far into their territory. Using a various tech-assisted means of movement (jetpack/hoverbike/mech wings/mech arms/bungee harness?) they usually prefer dropping onto their prey, using mechanical arms and dendrt grafted onto their bodies to quietly scale buildings before dropping onto their unsuspecting prey.

THE TALOS

TALOS is an ancient war-mech that was designed to be fired into an enemy city, where upon it unfolds/unfurls into active mode and unleash a swathe of destruction (eg Syndrome's mech from the Incredibles), but this one didn't happen to activate (eg like unexploded bomb). It is accidentally reactivated by Jason and his Argonaut crew as they scavenge for supplies and recharge their ship; and despite being hundreds of years out of time, it resumes its programming and starts attacking them indiscriminately.

Imprisoned Gargon (Talos Giant Statue): These spirit creatures are imprisoned by the Gods, petrified in the crystalized sap of the Yaga tree. The gorgons are a vicious giant creature almost impossible to kill, leading the Gods only option being to imprison them. They feed off the souls of living things. The more they feed, the stronger they get.

Har’puks (Harpies): These creatures indigenous to the Termula island. Carnivorous creatures who have a taste for human flesh. They tend to be shy/mischievous scavenging creatures. Due to their environment being a volcanic wasteland, they evolved with the rocks as part of their protection.

HW_09 - Simon Cardinal

 New IP Pitch:

A World where bodies decompose and fall apart - due to radiation? - unknown cause ?
Jason hears of a circus in which there is a (biological eternal heart?) that cures / prevents decomposition, all the circus members seem to be unaffected by the radiation.
Jason goes on a quest to the circus to take the item to bring back and heal his village.
Once Jason steals the fleece, the members of the circus rapidly start mutating and decomposing (becoming mutated circus freaks)
The golden fleece was making them stronger and was giving them immunity
Jason did not know that taking the fleece would cause a reverse effect on the circus members and harm them.
Jason gets attacked and has to flee. Maybe the ''golden fleece could be some sort of magic source that helps prevent decomposition and empower the bearer.

The circus is only reserved for the richest of the land.

Setting:
Post apo,
Muted, gloomy vs bright colorful circus I would want to mix in a culture with the circus to make it a unique take.

Media

A circus member that hears that the outside world is suffering and decides to help jason in his quest to steal the fleece.
-She is the dancer or acrobat of the circus

Land of giants:
Old abandoned circus field littered with carnival props
giant mutated circus freaks

Amulet The amulet could be the entry ticket or object jason needs to get in the circus
