HW_10 Will Wong

Hi Xin, thanks for a fun and challenging term!

Since I've been doing a lot of mood and ref boards, I'm still working on my environment sketches, will upload them later tonight to this post. Still not sure how far to should go with exploring how the world works, just that I have a lot of ideas for some key landmarks (that you can see in the second moodboard) that have a lot of sci-fi scale/utility baked in, like massive central circulation shafts that double as a park space and town square; a bathhouse / cathedral shrine space that has a large UV lamp that people use daily; a series of mass transit stations that double as fortified guard towers (to protect against inevitable outbreaks of civil unrest and terrorism), and the massive skyscraper-turned-new-ground-floor 'ceiling' and how that might look?

These just sound fun to do, but since they're mildly unrelated to the specific IP deliverables,  I think my goal over the break would be to explore as much as possible (for my own reference and benefit) before school starts again, to then refocus on the actual deliverables.

  1. Sounds good! Exploring a few key landmarks (though not deliverables) could still help you understand your architectural language, and maybe provide some usable parts for the deliverables. 3D kitbashing starting to look interesting. Don't be shy to mix in some 2D techniques, drawing over and doing some collages as well, then going back to 3D.
