Week 4 (and 5) Assignment Brief

Environment Design

This week, choose either "Jack's Hometown" or "Aku Ville." 

You will design the other location next week.

Week 4: focus on organic/natural environment and architecture

Week 5: focus on man-made, futuristic and industrial environment and architecture

(If your story/IP doesn't support either organic or futuristic elements, then just try your best)

• Practice breaking down and remixing information from your references
• Be creative, generate a variety of architectural landmarks for this location (try to have at least 5-6 distinct ideas)
• Can include various supporting elements to help "frame" and support the main structure (small props, vegetation, etc)
• As usual, post your creative brief, your ref/mood boards, and a numbered/labeled spread of your sketches

  Jack the God Killer:

Stoic
Determined
Stranger

“Jack” is a member of an elite group of advanced humans who orbit the new Earth in stasis. He awakes from his cryo sleep to perform routine maintenance on the Cyber Gods but  when he awakens he finds all his kind missing, and Aku, Goddess of Nature, controlling New Earth.

Cast down to the planet in a failed attempt at reaching Aku’s  satellite, Jack is now at the mercy of a planet over run by terror.
Fortunetely, Jack is equipped with superhuman strength and all manner of  advanced equipment, including “The God killer” a gun powerful enough to  sever Aku’s link with her satellite.
However these supplies are limited and they must use their cunning to navigate through the world.

Jack is seen as a stranger to the humble villages of New Earth and paints himself as a target  not just to his nemesis but the people he’s trying to save.

Jack represents the bitter pill and necessity of death.

Jack could be male or female, all that matters is he kicks ass to synthwave music.

 Lack

He is the leader of the rebellion alongside Ewen. Endowed with extraordinary powers and trained to use them, he will become more powerful than the high twins at the head of the country, and wishes to overthrow their government. Hunted by the Jumoirs, he prepares to face them one day and was, before the tragic loss of his twin, the only hope of the people.

Years later, the revolution never happened, the tyrants are still in power, and his magic is now a meager flame in his hands. At the end of his rope, Lack decides to find this creature that has taken everything away from him, and that has single-handedly reduced the hope of the people to nothing.
