Story:
Past: (1200s)
Sir Jacobus is a noble knight during the crusades in Europe. During a raid of his village by a group of barbarians, he crosses paths with their leader, a twisted dark warlock, Akuvius. Before almost being slain by Sir Jacobus, Akuvius casts a sleeping spell on Sir Jacobus and completes a ritual to destroy the world in its current state while consumed with rage. A solar flare event immediately engulfs earth, covering it with areas of ice and scorched desert. Due to the sleep spell cast on Sir Jacobus, he was frozen in time and remained alive. While due to his magical strength, Akuvius survived and began claiming the land as his own.
Present (2300s)
Due to the extreme weather, humanity struggled to survive, relying heavily on technological advancements as resources are dwindling. Some of the colonies remained deep in the frozen parts of the world, hiding away from Akuvius’ empire in the scorched desert. Sir Jacobus was found by some colony miners and brought to consciousness. The colony elders explained what happened and how far Akuvius’ reach has become. Driven to restore balance to the earth, Sir Jacobus is determined to put an end to Akuvius’s reine. Armed with the cooperation of the colonies, Sir Jacobus must gather resources and train knights to help reclaim land, make his way to Akuvius and find a way to reverse the effect of the solar storm.
Original IP changes:
-Sir Jackus does not have the goal to return to his original time but rather to reverse the effects of the Solar Flare Storm and end Akuvius’ reine.
Setting (Present)
Colonies: To stay hidden from Akuvius, the colonies live in the ice tundra and mountains. There is very little flora and fauna remaining, the colonies rely on farms and ice mining to find oxygen, fuel and food to survive. The architecture of the colonies has a very tribal overall shape with materials used being welded scrap metal pieced together.
Akuvius’s city/Outposts: Akuvius’ settled and thrived in the desert, with some outposts near the borders of the ice tundra. The architecture for Akuvius reflects his followers’s barbaric and individualistic morals. Akuvius lives in a “castle of sorts,” a design heavily inspired by 13th century european castles which Akuvius so desperately wanted to take over in the past. With design elements incorporating protection from the elements and technological advancements. While his people live in scrap metal slums, disorganized, barely scraping by.
Gameplay
Sir Jacobus starts the game deep in the icy tundra, in a small colony. Sir Jacobus must gather resources, recruit, train and expand the colony. He can then coordinate raids, and take over Akuvius’ Outposts and technology, leading to expansion and taking over more of the map.
Technological Level
The technology is vastly superior to modern tech, however crude in its construction. (think Jawas from star wars) The colonies have a main priority for survival, so their resources are placed in black smithing, oxygen and solar flare fuel mining, and nutrition farming(bacteria/etc.) compared to Akuvius putting more resources into weapons/ transportation.
Magical force: when the solar flares devastated the earth, their power was occasionally trapped under some of the ice. Becoming a major source of power for the colonies and a coveted resource.
