Aku is a magic brain parasite emperor that feeds off peoples’ sense and instinct for self preservation. It can grow to a gargantuan size to siphon from a whole multitude of people (dragon form) but is also able to shrink to a size where it can comfortably attach to the brain stem of a single host (human form).

The theme I’m trying to convey is that of individual vs the state and freedom against civilization by portraying Emperor Aku, the avatar of state and civilization, as a parasitic organism.
