What does the User want:
My Art director – a new artstyle and setting, same characters
The Fans – Something that captures the Spirit of Samurai Jack.
The Spirit of Samurai Jack: A stoic protagonist, quirky side characters, creative bad guy designs that make for interesting fights. A “Cool Factor”. Visual storytelling.
Similar spirits: Berserk, Sergio Leone films (Clint Eastwood), Yojimbo, Conan.
Setting: Cyber Tech futuristic protagonist sent to ancient celtic times/ primordial swords and sorcery fantasy/ Alien world mimicking primitive medieval aesthetic.
Plot: Jack, a gunslinger tasked with updating outdated cyber-gods has been cursed by Aku, the shape shifting entity of darkness, and is cursed to go through a series of 10 labors to prove themselves worthy of killing her. They are cast back in time/ ship crashes onto a primitive alien earth where their cybernetic skills and ammunition are limited. They meet some interesting characters and fight through hideous primordial foes on their journey to destroy the cyber-god Aku.
Cyber-gods: Divine beings created by mankind to rule over them. Every millennia, a god must be given a system update to keep it from becoming malicious. Only specific humans equipped with the God-killer can touch the artificial beings, and must be blessed by all the tribes of humanity for it to work. The other cyber-gods aid the God-killer in their journey to update the rogue Cyber God, in a Greco-pantheon like fasion.
Gunslingers: The only humans with the knowledge and skill to kill a Cyber-God.
The rest of humanity: living purposely in a primitive helpless state (Think of the Eloi from HG Wells Time Machine) so that they may blissfully endulge themselves in a paradise maintained by the Gods. Aku has gone rogue and is currently changing their paradise into a realm of nightmares and terror.
Aku: A cyber-God that has become outdated and gone rogue. A shape-shifter by nature, with apparent sorcerer like abilities to the primitive humans.
