Kimelea is an ancient vengeful African spirit that can only Inhabit the earth through a living body (animal, plant, human, insect), similar to a parasite taking control over a host’s body. Once Kimelea has taken over a host (each mask grants him 1 host, total of 4 masks), he may not change host, the mask gets bonded to the host’s spirit, until the host body dies. If all 5 hosts are killed, he is then returned to his realm.
He appears on earth roughly once every millennia, leaving behind him destruction.
-The bodies that have been devoured by Kimelea can be identified with specific markings (yellow motifs)
-The parasite must keep feeding on souls in order to regenerate the host’s body.
-To stay immortal, Kimelea stores his soul into separate masks / containers for his spirit (similar to a lich phylactery) and hides it throughout different timelines.
-when Kimelea’s soul is separated into multiple parts (4 masks), his power is diluted. The less masks he inhabits,
the more concentrated Kimelea’s powers are. As he gets more powerful , he is able to shapeshift into bigger and
more dangerous forms. As the player progresses through the game and slowly breaks the masks, Kimelea becomes harder to defeat.
-Different masks have different shape shifting properties
-Ex: one mask allows Kimelea’s host to shape shift to different types of insects, animals, humans, elemental golems, etc...
Kimelea is a very evil, parasitical spirit. Its only goal is to try to gain as much power and influence as possible in order to stay on earth as long as possible. To achieve so, he will be very manipulative, he will act as an ally, and will bend his personality to please anyone it comes across. The longer he is on earth, the more influence he will have on his surroundings, slowly corrupting it. It usually only turning into his morphs when necessary or when he needs to feed on souls. For his visual properties, he can take on any form he wants, but will favour agile forms that allow him to feed on souls easily.
He hides in plain sight in his human forms, . Since the host kimelea inhabits always wears a mask, kimelea will usually be found in traditional gatherings, trying to blend in with other mask wearing individuals.
