Junker Jack
Setting - The game is set in an alternative universe with a mix of technology
(steampunk-ish), medieval touches, and fuel-powered magic (Very much a fantasy setting). Havens (towns and
cities) have been created that boast security for their inhabitance spread
through various biomes. Jack (the player) lands in this unfamiliar world and
must explore and level up. Machines and other creatures hunt in the shadows,
picking off stragglers and filling the less-traveled areas of the
landscape.
The population is organized via a caste (feudal?) system, with the nobility and wealthy living in the center of the various Havens and answering to the local lords and Monarchs. There are also other cultures/creatures (human and fantastical) scattered through the land, some friendly, and others less so.
In this 3rd person RPG game, the player can craft
gear to fit their playstyle. This includes swords, wands, blunderbuss-type guns
to spears, and shields.
Theme - Explore an unfamiliar world and find/defeat the enemy (Aku) who pulled you into the game world. Aku is a shapeshifter who becomes more challenging, changing form, as the final battle progresses.
Starting Location - Crestfallen,
a small frontier town is largely abandoned. It is located in a wasteland that once
prospered with many wonders remaining hidden away. You will have to use what is around to begin crafting gear to venture out and
explore.
Visual Style - Stylized with hand-painted
textures and low poly models. Vibrant colors used to set the mood (day-night
cycle). Monsters, players, and NPCs are cell-shaded with outlines visible.
