HW_04 Thomas Gorski

 JackTown

Tribes: To stay hidden from Akuvius, the tribes live in the ice tundra and mountains.  There is very little flora and fauna remaining, the colonies rely on farms and ice mining to find oxygen, fuel and food to survive. Since they have so few resources to work with, they must remain incredibly resourceful to survive. The architecture of the colonies has a very tribal overall shape with materials used being welded scrap metal pieced together.

Symbolically, to contrast the heavy almost industrial feel of Akuvius’ Fortress City, the tribes have a much less oppressive, less visually dominant feel.

Less visually dominant:

-to evade attention from Akuvius and his forces

-speaks to way of life, more simple and focused on surviving

Shape design:

-Due to resources being low,  materials used in construction are often recycled(scrap metal), any tarping is also very ragged and patched up. Wood.

-The overall shapes used for construction remain primitive since the main focus of the colonies is to survive. (can be a little more developed than just plain primitive shapes, or combo of shapes)

-Most houses in the tribe have very similar shapes, although skewed proportions depending on function.
