HW_05 Midterm - Thomas Gorski

 Akuvius Mining Fortress City

Mining fortress: Following the solar flare event, Akuvius settled in the scorched desert, creating a fortress mining precious metals/minerals for riches and power. The fortress is heavily fortified with stone and metal walls, with slums of poor living outside. Due to mining being the main function of the city, there are giant mining structures surrounding the main fortress.

Symbolism: Akuvius’ fortress has a very industrial feel, constrasing the simple and “small” lifestyle of the tribes. Heavily showing the individualistic vs community mindset, everyone for themselves vs. togetherness and family.

More Visually dominant:

-strong focus on materialism and control over others.

Shape design:

-Materials: stone and metal with precious metal accents, the slums surrounding the

-the shapes are still influenced by medieval castle architecture with more modern twists of technology
