HW_07 Serene Hu

Genre:
Action/Adventure, Fantasy

Setting:
- Fictional world inspired by ancient China.

References:
- Sui and Tang dynasties
- Film noir

Tech:
- 420 to 960 AD

Magic:
- Can be materialized on its own or can be channeled through a weapon/tool

Story:
I will be sticking closely to the original material, but perhaps retelling the story with a film noir angle (visually by the use of lighting/shadows, story-wise by emphasizing themes such as pessimism, mystery and moral ambiguity).
The only part I’d add is that Fahai has challenged SuZhen in the past for the immortality pills she consumed, but is refused and defeated.

Characters:
Bai SuZhen: Snake demon disguised as a young woman. The intelligent, alluring ‘femme fatale’ of the story. Loves her husband Xu Xian and will do anything to protect him; even if in doing so she causes harm to others.

Xu Xian: SuZhen’s human husband. An herbalist who is studious and dedicated to his craft. He is outwardly stoic but is actually kind and loves his wife.

FaHai: Tortoise demon disguised as a monk. Envious of SuZhen for consuming all of the immortality pills and still bitter about his defeat at her hands.
